Faron Young (February 25, 1932 – December 10, 1996) was an American country music producer, musician, and songwriter from the early 1950s into the mid-1980s.
Nach massiven gesundheitlichen Problemen erschoss sich Faron Young am 9. Dezember 1996. Einen Tag später wurde er offiziell für tot erklärt. Im Jahre 2000 erhielt er postum die größte Auszeichnung der Country-Musik: Er wurde in die Country Music Hall of Fame aufgenommen.

Faron Young (born Feb. 25, 1932, Shreveport, Louisiana,—died Dec. 10, 1996, Nashville, Tenn.) . American singer, one of the most popular country music performers of the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s. He was known as the “Young Sheriff," which he later changed to the “Singing Sheriff"; his band was the Country Deputies.
