In den Jahren von 1968 bis 1975 fand der Große Preis von Spanien abwechselnd auf den Rennstrecken Circuito del Jarama in Madrid und auf dem Circuit de Montjuïc in Barcelona statt. Von 1976 bis 1981 war durchgehend Madrid der Austragungsort. In den Jahren 1982 bis 1985 wurde kein Großer Preis von Spanien ausgetragen.
