Başkent University (Turkish: Başkent Üniversitesi) is a private university in Ankara, Turkey. The university was founded on 13 January 1994 by Professor Dr. Mehmet Haberal. The university center is located in Ankara and also has medical and research centers and dialysis centers all around Turkey.
Başkent Üniversitesi, 13 Ocak 1994 tarihinde Ankara'da Türkiye Organ Nakli ve Yanık Tedavi Vakfı ile Haberal Eğitim Vakfı tarafından kurulmuş bir vakıf üniversitesidir. Başkent Üniversitesi Türkiye'de kurulan üçüncü vakıf üniversitesidir, kurucusu Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal'dır.
Başkent University’s vision is to be a home, that provides high level education based on scientific production in every field of advanced medical practices as an international brand, and which transforms this to a social added value on the road to its rightful place in the line of modern civilization.
The educational activities started in 1994 at Başkent University with 11 Faculties, 1 State Conservatory, 6 Vocational Schools, 7 Institutes and School of Foreign Languages. In addition to educational activities, the University has the following centres for research and application.
Baskent University; Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal founded Turkey Organ Transplantation and Burn Treatment Foundation in 1980, the Dialysis Center in 1982, the first hospital in 1985, and after the Haberal Education Foundation in 1986, in order to meet the
1993 yılı ortalarında Haberal Eğitim Vakfı ile birlikte kurulması kararlaştırılan BAŞKENT ÜNİVERSİTESİ'nin kuruluş işlemleri başlatılıp kısa sürede tamamlanmıştır.Üniversitemiz 13 Ocak 1994 tarihinde 3961 sayılı kanunla kurulmuştur.
