Der Center (dt. Mitte) ist eine von fünf Positionen im Basketball. Im Deutschen sind auch die Bezeichnungen Innenspieler, Centerspieler und gemäß der üblichen Bezifferung die Zuordnung als Position fünf gebräuchlich. Im Englischen wird der Center auch post player oder big man genannt.

- Shooting Guard. Shooting Guards bzw. "2er" sind normalerweise die "besten Werfer:innen auf dem Feld", so Mitchell. "Wenn du als Coach einen Spielzug ausarbeitest, wählst du den Shooting Guard als zuverlässigen 3-Punkte-Werfer.
- Small Forward. Schon in der Vergangenheit, als die Positionen noch klarer definiert waren, war die Unterscheidung zwischen einem Shooting Guard und einem Small Forward (oder der "3") schwierig.
- Power Forward. Der Power Forward und der Center sind Teil des Frontcourt. Sie spielen also näher am Korb (egal, ob offensiv oder defensiv) als der Point Guard und die Flügelspieler:innen.
