Gabriel Duvall (born Dec. 6, 1752, Marietta, near Buena Vista, Md. [U.S.]—died March 6, 1844, Prince George’s county, Md., U.S.) was an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (1811–35).
Although he served as a Justice of the United States Supreme Court for nearly a quarter of a century, Gabriel Duvall had a relatively small impact on the development of American constitutional law. Born into a prominent Maryland Huguenot family, he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1788.
Duvall served on the Supreme Court for twenty-three years and resigned on January 14, 1835. He died on March 6, 1844, at the age of ninety-one.
