Auckland Region war bis Ende Oktober 2010 die Region des Großraums Auckland mit einem gewählten Regional Council (Rat der Region) auf der Nordinsel von Neuseeland. Sie war nach Nelson zwar die kleinste Region des Landes, hatte aber mit rund 1,4 Millionen Einwohnern mit Abstand die höchste Bevölkerungszahl.
Auckland was the seat of the New Ulster province from 1846 until its replacement following the passing of the New Zealand Constitution Act 1852. The new province, known as Auckland Province, was elected by settlers from 1853 and continued until the abolition of provinces in 1876.
