In October 2016, the band parted ways with guitarist Ruben Gallego. That December, the band officially replaced Flexner and Gallego with two new members: former Mean Creek guitarist Aurore Ounjian and former Afghan Whigs and Cursive drummer Cully Symington.

Cursive is an American indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska. Stylistically described as emo and post-hardcore, [4] Cursive came to prominence with 2000's Domestica and found commercial and critical success with 2003's The Ugly Organ. [5]
Okkervil River is an American rock band led by singer-songwriter Will Sheff. Formed in Austin, Texas, in 1998, the band takes its name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya [citation needed] set on the river Okkervil in Saint Petersburg.
