26. März 2024 · Craighead County is located in northeast Arkansas and was created as Arkansas’s fifty-eighth county in 1859. It is unusual not only in the circumstances of its creation and naming but also in that it has two county seats, Jonesboro and Lake City .
Located in northeastern Arkansas, Craighead County has an area of 717 square miles and a population of 107,115 according to the 2017 census. The creation of Craighead County occurred on February 19, 1859, in the Arkansas Legislature in Little Rock, Arkansas.
