Walter David Hassinger (March 31, 1927 – August 15, 2007) was an American Grammy award -winning recording engineer and record producer . Biography. Early years. Born in Los Angeles, California, he joined the U.S. Navy aged 17, and was one of the first divers on the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor.
In 1969, former RCA recording engineer and Warner/Reprise producer, David Hassinger purchased the Moonglow Records/Studio building and renamed it The Sound Factory.
