Leiria (Portuguese pronunciation: [lɐjˈɾi.ɐ] ⓘ) is a city and municipality in the Central Region of Portugal. It is the 2nd largest city in that same region, with a municipality population of 128,640 (as of 2021) in an area of 565.09 square kilometres (218.18 sq mi).
Batalha ist Verwaltungssitz eines gleichnamigen Kreises im Distrikt Leiria. Am 19. April 2021 hatte der Kreis 15.557 Einwohner auf einer Fläche von 103,4 km². Die Nachbarkreise sind (im Uhrzeigersinn im Norden beginnend): Leiria, Vila Nova de Ourém, Alcanena sowie Porto de Mós.
