Muhammad Umar al-Mukhtar (Arabic: محمد عمر المختار) (1921 – 12 July 2018) was the only son of the well-known Libyan mujahid Umar al-Mukhtar. Life. Muhammad Umar al-Mukhtar was born in 1921 in the al-Awailiya region, near Marj in eastern Libya, the son of Umar and his wife Naisa al-Jilani.
