Built around the courthouse square, Paris is economically supported by agricultural activity, retail business enterprises, and small industries.
Paris is the seat of Logan County in the Ouachitas region of Arkansas. While possibly a little provincial and unremarkable in itself, it is a good staging point for visiting the Ouachita Mountains, particularly the tallest point in Arkansas, Mt. Magazine.

With a population of about 3,700 residents, Paris is located in Logan County and serves as the county seat for the northern district.
Paris is probably most known as the gateway to Mount Magazine, the highest point in Arkansas rising 2,753 feet above mean sea level. While it alone is a wonderful place for recreation, there are numerous other sites to explore on and at the base of the Mount Magazine – museums, historical sites, winery, abbey, dining, and lodging.
