The Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall includes the Main Hall (1,874 seats), Small Hall (304 seats), four conference rooms, a large functional foyer (1,888 m² of horizontal and 300 m² of vertical exhibition space), and three snack bars.

The Academy traces its roots to the in-house music school established in February 1829 by the German-language Agramer Musikverein (or Zagreb Musical Society) modeled after the Musikverein in Vienna and which later evolved into the present-day Croatian Music Institute. To honor the composer, Zagreb concert hall was named after him. The stage of the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall, which has been open for almost five decades, has hosted many music, dance and theater performances by the best international and domestic soloists, orchestras and ensembles.
Vatroslav Lisinski (getauft 8. Juli 1819 in Zagreb; † 31. Mai 1854 ebenda) war ein kroatischer Komponist und begründete als solcher den nationalkroatischen Musikstil. Lisinski gilt als Mitbegründer der Illyrischen Bewegung, der Rückbesinnung auf kroatisches Kulturerbe.
