Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School is a Baptist seminary in Rochester, New York. It is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA . History. 1820s–1960: Early history. Four Baptist institutions merged over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries to form Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS) as it exists today.
In 1970, the seminary merged with the Rochester Theological Seminary, forming the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York and the seminary's Old Main building was subsequently used as office space by Crozer Hospital (now part of the Crozer-Chester Medical Center.)
Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, next to Highland Park, is a small but distinct part of the city's higher education offerings. Its beautiful campus sits on a hill overlooking the southern portion of Monroe County and its brick spires can be seen popping through their surrounding trees from South Goodman Street.
Following the August 14 transfer of records from the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS) in Rochester, N.Y., that seminal document of Colgate’s history is now part of the University’s archives and available for research.
