The Detroit Soul was a band formed about 1965 with mostly local high school boys from New Britain and Pulaski high schools. Lead singer Sal Lanares hailed from South Windsor Connecticut, USA. Prior to Sal, the band was fronted by a three man singing group from Waterbury called "The Connoisesurs".
