Hanzo Hasashi (Japanese: 波佐志 半蔵 Hasashi Hanzo), better known as Scorpion (Japanese: 全蠍人; Zenkatsujin; "Full Scorpion Man"), is a resurrected ninja in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series as well as the mascot of the games.

The series' original Scorpion is Hanzo Hasashi (Japanese: 波佐志 半蔵), an undead Japanese warrior principally defined by his quest to avenge the deaths of himself, his family, and his clan.
Born to the Shirai Ryu Ninja clan, Hanzo Hasashi was among the best shinobi in the clan. He earned the name "Sasori" (the Japanese word for "Scorpion") because of his incredible Ninja skills, and his life was blessed with kombat for the glory of his clan's Grand Master.

Driven by rage, Hanzo Hasashi went through Hell and back to avenge his family and clan, never resting until he cut down their murderer, Quan Chi. Now, he leads a reborn Shirai Ryu, avenging those who cannot avenge themselves. But while he appears to have control over his fiery spirit, Scorpion still fears that fire is destined to consume him.
