"Bein' Green" (also known as "It's Not Easy Bein' Green") is a song written by Joe Raposo, originally performed by Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog on both Sesame Street and The Muppet Show (in the episodes "Peter Ustinov" and "Peter Sellers"). It later was covered by Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and other performers.

After Kermit turns down a medium-sized wolf, that wolf thinks it's because he is green, saying that "it's not easy being green." Kermit then says that he's noticed that. In the Sesame Street song, "I'm Between" from 1979, Tony, squashed between two monsters, sings this lyric: "It's easier by far being green than being between."
