Step 1: Sign Up
1. Fall 2024 admission: Once you have been accepted to KU, you may register for an audition. Registration for live and virtual auditions can be found here. 2. For existing KU students or Spring transfers prior to March 15- email musicauditions@ku.edu to set up an audition. Please indicate your instrument and desired degree program in this email. Past March 15, please utilize the registration link below to submit a video audition.
Step 2: Prepare
1. Select your instrument(s) from the list at the bottom of this page (Areas of Study) for specific requirements . 2. Review your area-specific requirements and contact the listed faculty with any questions. 3. Please read carefully, as some auditions vary by degree program!
Step 3: Audition
1. Join us in Murphy Hall for your live KU School of Music audition or submit your video via the virtual audition instructions- (provided at time of sign up). 2. Please email musicauditions@ku.eduwith any questions.
December 1 - Submission of pre-screening videos for BM Piano Performance (details may be found at Piano - BM Performance) February 28- Priority date for scholarship consideration for Jazz auditions. March 15- Priority date for scholarship consideration for all other auditions. June 1- Priority date for entry auditions to KU School of Music
KU School of Music offers live & virtual audition options. For students auditioning for Fall of 2024, the live dates will occur on Feb. 10th and Feb. 17th, 2024.
