- Our School
St George's School, Ascot is an independent girls' boarding and day school in Ascot, Berkshire, England. It was founded as a boys' school but later became a girls' school. History. The school was founded in 1877 as a boys' preparatory school. Among its former pupils was the British war-time Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
Admissions. We have three boarding houses at St George’s organised according to age. Each house has its own unique character. Click on the sections below to find out more about each boarding house.
EAL. Acceptance. Visas. Guardianship. Entrance Examinations for International Pupils. Once registered for possible entry, applicants will be invited to sit their assessment either at St George’s School, or, at the office of one of the school’s educational agents, the British Council or at a candidate’s own school.
Boarding as an International Pupil. We are extremely proud of our diverse community. Whilst two-thirds of our boarders at St George’s are British, we have a wonderful mix of girls from different countries, who bring fresh ideas, cultural thinking and experience to the school.

St George’s was founded in 1877 by The Reverend Herbert William Sneyd-Kynnersley as a boys’ Prep School, with 41 pupils housed in what is now Markham.
