1. Jan. 2022 · UNESCO finds that some iconic World Heritage glaciers will disappear by 2050. Thursday, 3 November 2022. New UNESCO data highlight the accelerated melting of glaciers in World Heritage sites, with glaciers in a third of sites set to disappear by 2050.
11. Sept. 2023 · World Heritage magazine: issue 104 September 2023. The extended 45th session of the World Heritage Committee begins in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we express our gratitude to our hosts for convening the first in-person Committee since the onset of COVID-19.
On 11 September (13:00 local time in Riyadh), UNESCO and Saudi authorities will hold a press conference, which will be broadcast online. The Committee will examine the state of conservation of 260 sites already inscribed on the World Heritage List, 55 of which are also on the List of World Heritage in Danger .
26. Juli 2021 · The UNESCO World Heritage Committee voted to inscribe four cultural sites and four natural sites in China, India, Iran, Spain, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Georgia. The sites range from ancient temples and maritime trade centres to railway engineering and urban landscapes.
