The Conversion of Saint Augustine. St. Augustine—354—430 AD. Augustine of Hippo, also known as Saint Augustine, was a theologian, philosopher, and the bishop of Hippo Regius in Numidia, Roman North Africa. His Roman mother Monica (now known as St. Monica) was a Christian and raised him as such.
Conversion, or the turning to God, is a movement that is possible for us at every moment of our journey – not simply once and forever, but continually and ever more deeply.
