Sonobe Gisaburō ( japanisch 薗部 儀三郎; * 6. November 1911 in der Präfektur Chiba; † 31. März 2024 in Tateyama, Präfektur Chiba) war ein japanischer Supercentenarian . Leben. Sonobe (園部町, Sonobe-chō) was a town located in Funai District, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. On January 1 2006, Sonobe, along with the towns of Hiyoshi and Yagi (all from Funai District ), and the town of Miyama (from Kitakuwada District ), was merged to create the city of Nantan .

From Kyoto Station, take the JR bus in direction of Takao and get off at Shuzan (90 minutes, 1080 yen, fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass), the terminal stop on the line (note that not all buses operate all the way to Shuzan). From there, very infrequent Nantan Buses operate into Miyama (30 minutes, 600 yen one way).

5. Apr. 2024 · Tweet. 5. Chiba centenarian was former school teacher. Last month, Gisaburo Sonobe, a resident of the town of Tateyama in Chiba Prefecture, passed away. If you’re thinking that Gisaburo sounds like a decidedly old-fashioned name, you’re right, but that’s to be expected when you consider that Sonobe was a decidedly old man.
