Hidden Conversations is the follow up to Terry Callier's Lookin' Out album. Following his performance at the 2008 Meltdown Festival, curated by Massive Attack - he once again teamed up with the legendary British trio and the result is this album. Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja co-wrote Wings and John Lee Hooker and exclusively wrote Live With Me.
Though, the lyrics tread cheese territory, such as Fool Me Fool You, other times Callier is as strong as ever. The pitch black blues-rock/soul ballad John Lee Hooker is the clear standout, as well as the Massive Attack written Live With Me. Always one to scat on over his songs (Dancing Girl, Alley-Wind Song), Callier continues the tradition here with Once I Dreamed of Heaven.
