During the recording sessions, the band fired their guitarist Jason Cropper and brought in Brian Bell. Cropper’s guitar parts were re-recorded by band leader and guitarist Rivers Cuomo, and Bell re-recorded the backing vocals that Cropper had already laid down. As with most things Weezer, the album was mostly Cuomo’s work.

Jason Rosanoff Cropper (born June 27, 1971 Oakland, California) is a founding member and the original rhythm guitarist for Weezer. He later went on to front the bands Chopper One and Fliptop , eventually pursuing his own solo career as a musician and producer.

Jason Cropper. Jason Cropper foi o guitarrista original da banda Weezer, e esteve presente no primeiro ensaio da banda em 14 de fevereiro de 1992. Ele saiu da banda durante a gravação do primeiro álbum da banda, o The Blue Album. Ele gravou com a banda três fitas demo. Depois de deixar o weezer ele fez um tour com sua banda Chooper One.
