The Boys From Syracuse: A Musical Comedy Sensation (1997 Original New York Recording)
Musical adaptation of Shakespeare's "The Comedy Of Errors first performed on November 3, 1938 at the Shubert Theater, Boston and on November 23, 1938 at the Alvin Theater in New York (235 performances). This recording is of Richard York's 25th anniversary revival which had its New York premiere on April 15, 1963 at Theatre Four on West 55th Street.
Returning to Broadway in 2002, this limited engagement revival of Rodgers & Hart’s The Boys from Syracuse opened on August 18, 2002 at the American Airlines Theatre, where it played for 73 performances. Featuring a new book by playwright Nicky Silver, the production was directed by Scott Ellis and featured choreography by Rob Ashford.
