Bei seiner Themenfülle, seinem klugen Aufbau, seinen wichtigen Gedanken und dem souveränen Schreibstil der Autorin ist das aber Kritik auf allerhöchstem Niveau. Völlig zurecht steht der Roman auf der Shortlist zum diesjährigen Man Booker Prize.
