Apr. 2018 · Sonny Boy Williamson (Rice Miller) and Little Walter Jacobs had died in 1965 and 1968 respectively, and Horton, who was known as "Big," "Mumbles," and "Shakey," was the next in line in the pantheon. In fact, he claimed to have been an influence on Sonny Boy, and Johnny Shines concurred, during his early years around Memphis and the Delta.
