About Skip Battin. Country-rock journeyman bass player Clyde "Skip" Battin was part of the duo Skip & Flip that scored three chart entries in 1959-1960, including "It Was I" and "Cherry Pie," both of which reached number 11. He formed the Evergreen Blueshoes in the mid-'60s and was a member of the Byrds from 1969 to 1972, playing bass and singing.

Before The Byrds, he lead Evergreen Blueshoes before recording four albums with New Riders Of The Purple Sage between '74 and '76. He also recorded four solo albums.
