Anita Carter. Ina Anita Carter (March 31, 1933 – July 29, 1999) was an American singer who played upright bass, guitar, and autoharp. She performed with her sisters, Helen and June, and her mother, Maybelle, initially under the name The Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle. Carter had three top ten hits as well as other charting singles.

She was the youngest daughter of Maybelle Carter who was a founding member of The Carter Family. At age 17, she played upright bass for their Mother Maybelle and Carter Sisters ‘ stints when they joined the WSM’s Grand Ole Opry Show in 1950.
The lyrics of “I’m Movin’ On” tell the story of a man who has had enough of his cheating lover. He sees a big eight-wheeler rolling down the track, a symbol of his departure from the relationship. The verses describe his determination to move on and his realization that his lover was flying too high for his limited sky.
