Magdalen College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. It was founded in 1458 by William of Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester and is named after Mary Magdalene. The college is one of the largest and most prestigious colleges in Oxford, with approximately 500 undergraduates and 250 graduate students.

The College has its origins in the year 1428 and has an eclectic mix of buildings. There has been a continuous tradition of academic study on the site for nearly 600 years, Magdalene admits roughly 100 undergraduate students each year for all courses offered by the University of Cambridge, and roughly 80 postgraduate students.
Magdalen is currently home to around 400 undergraduate students, 200 graduate students, lots of friendly Fellows and staff, and a herd of deer. That might sound a lot, but the brilliant thing about having such a large College is that there is plenty of space for everyone.

Das Magdalen College ist schön anzuschauen und auf jeden Fall wert durchzuschlendern. Der große Park der angrenzt ist für Spaziergänge schön. An dem angrenzenden Rehpark kann man den Rehen beim flanieren zusehen. Der Eintrittspreis ist mit 5 Pfund bzw. 4 Pfund Studentenpreis eher teuer.
