We at SSEES are proud to offer an unparalleled range of online short courses in Central and East European languages - some of which are not available for part-time study anywhere else in the UK.
Although by training and instincts an historian, I am an interdisciplinary scholar with interests falling within the realms of politics, criminology, security studies, international relations and anthropology. My focus is particularly on security-related topics, including organised crime, the intelligence services, the military and the politics of national security governance. Honorary Professor
Multidisciplinary, area-based research – on Central, South Eastern and Eastern Europe, and Russia – conducted by experts at UCL SSEES enriches our understanding of the region, informing both real-world policy and the public.
Our flexible BA programmes combine core disciplines with a focus on the SSEES region (Russia, The Baltics, Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe). SSEES graduates can be found globally, in a wide range of careers from banking and finance, policy making and security analysts, translation, media, law and further study.
