  3. THE EARLY DAYS. Nicky was born in London on 24th February 1944, during World War II, we was educated in a middle class familiy in London during the postwar, he was a fourth child of four. He began playing piano at the age of three when his mother bought him a piano. In 1950 at the age of six he began formal private lessons.
