Irene Papas gebürtig Iríni Lelékou war eine griechische Film- und Theaterschauspielerin und Sängerin. Sie gehörte zu den führenden Tragödiendarstellerinnen ihres Landes und wirkte auch an internationalen Filmproduktionen mit.
Papas connaissait déjà Míkis Theodorákis pour avoir travaillé avec lui sur Zorba le Grec dès 1964.
