Louis Clark Brock was born on June 18, 1939, in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of Paralee and Maud Brock. For Paralee this was the second of her three marriages and Louis was one of nine children she bore. Shortly after Louis’s arrival she moved to Collinston, Louisiana, a mixed-race town of 300 population.
