Saratoga has the working components for a good film, but they are squandered in half realized ideas and overly familiar cliches. Barrymore alone manages to be at least a little entertaining, despite the fact that he is a cartoonish single note character. At tue very least he seemed like he was enjoying himself. Everyone else is just going through the motions.
