Die Unzulänglichkeiten der Menschen, ihr zäher Lernwille, die kleinen Siege, die sie trotz allem davontragen, nehmen bei dem bisschen nackten Leben, das ihnen bleibt, geradezu heroische Ausmaße an. Es gibt keine sympathischen Loser in » Half Nelson«.
Nedá mi to neporovnať s podobným učiteľským námetom filmu Detachment, ktorý bol podľa mňa omnoho inšpiratívnejší a lepší, hoci zároveň aj oveľa depresívnejší. Možno keby nemám s čím porovnávať, tak by mi Half Nelson prišiel výnimočnejší - no takto je to len na 2*.
