Paul Cotton (born February 26, 1943, Fort Rucker, Alabama, USA - died July 31, 2021, Eugene, Oregon) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, and member of the country rock group Poco (3).
Most of Cotton's music career has been as songwriter, lead guitarist and lead singer for the band Poco. Cotton, who was born in Alabama but raised in Chicago, said in a September 2000 interview with Sound Waves magazine, "I'm just drawn to the South. Hey, I spent 25 winters in Chicago." Cotton joined Poco in 1970, replacing Jim Messina.

Paul Cotton was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter who was a key member of the band Poco. Cotton's best known song with the band is "Heart of the Night,” which was a major hit from the group’s Legend album. He also penned the song "Barbados.” Paul Cotton passed away in July 2021.
