He was the first business manager of the Nazi Party and later became the head of Eher Verlag, the official Nazi Party publishing house. After the war ended, Amann was arrested by Allied troops.
Max Amann was born into a Catholic family in Munich, Germany, on 9th February, 1902. After leaving school he joined the German Army. During the First World War he was a sergeant in the 1st Company of the 16th Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment where he met Adolf Hitler. Amann recommended Hitler for officer training.
