Edward VI. Edward was born at Hampton Court Palace on 12th October 1537, the son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour. He was a well-educated but sickly child. An important event during his reign was the introduction of the first English Prayer Book when English replaced Latin in church services.
Eduard VI. byl třetí anglický král z rodu Tudorovců, který nastoupil na trůn v devíti letech po smrti svého otce Jindřicha VIII. V době své vlády byl pro nezletilost zastupován regentskou radou, v jejímž čele stál v letech 1547 až 1549 jeho strýc Eduard Seymour, vévoda ze Somersetu, a v letech 1550 až 1553 John Dudley, vévoda z Northumberlandu.
Eduard VI (12. oktobar 1537 – 6. juli 1553) bio je kralj Engleske i drugi kralj Irske, od svoje devete do petnaeste godine života. Bio je prvi protestant na engleskom tronu, te je tek za vrijeme njegove vladavine protestantizam postao zvanična i glavna religija svih Engleza, iako je već njegov otac razdvojio englesko katoličanstvo od rimokatoličanstva .
