What had happened was the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders – crimes so heinous that the townspeople couldn’t bear to be associated with “Wineville” any longer.

There‘s a book telling the story of Sanford Clark, the nephew who Gordon Northcott tortured and forced to participate in the murders from the ages of 13 to 15 years old and who later gave the evidence against him at his trial. It’s called The Road Out Of Hell and is a horrifying story.
