El Salvador (deutsche Aussprache [ɛl zalvaˈdoːɐ̯], spanische Aussprache [el salβaˈðoɾ]; spanisch „der Erlöser“, „der Heiland“) ist ein Staat in Mittelamerika. Er grenzt im Nordwesten an Guatemala, im Nordosten an Honduras und liegt am Pazifik.
