Der original Painkiller entstand 1970 durch Daphne Henderson in der Soggy Dollar Bar auf der Insel Jost van Dyke der Britischen Jungferninseln – damals noch mit Cruzan Rum gemixt. 1989 hat Pusser’s Rum Ltd. den Namen, sowie das Rezept des Painkiller’s markenrechtlich eintragen lassen.

Fill the shaker with ice, seal, and shake until the outside of the shaker is very frosty, about 20 seconds. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into the glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg, and add a straw.
