David Freiberg (/ ˈ f r aɪ b ər ɡ / FRY-berg; born August 24, 1938) is an American musician best known for contributing vocals, keyboards, electric bass, rhythm guitar, viola and percussion as a member of Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Airplane, and Jefferson Starship.

David Freiberg is the last man standing from the original Jefferson Starship, a group with a family tree full of twisted tendrils and lots of incredible songs. In the '60s, when the group's progenitor, Jefferson Airplane, was anchoring the San Francisco scene, Freiberg was in Quicksilver Messenger Service, a spectacular live act in the same ambit.
David is a world class singer, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He was also a member of Jefferson Airplane, and co- wrote one of Jefferson Starship’s all-time biggest hits, “Jane” – which he sings. David is the band's Buddha and guru.
