Het leverde The Pretty Things waardering van de muziekpers en collega's op, maar grote verkopen bleven uit. Er volgde nog een aantal LP's (Parachute, Freeway Madness, Silk Torpedo en Savage Eye), maar in 1975 hielden The Pretty Things op te bestaan.
Seuraavina vuosina The Pretty Things julkaisi heavy metal- ja glam rock-tyyliset albumit Freeway Madness , Silk Torpedo ja Savage Eye . Parachuten tapaan nämäkin saivat vastakaikua brittiläisissä underground-piireissä, mutta eivät juurikaan niiden ulkopuolella. Lopulta yhtyeen toiminta hiipui.
Pretty Things reformed in late 1971. Wally Waller, who had become assistant producer at EMI, was replaced by Stuart Brooks (born January 1951, Hertfordshire) (ex-Black Cat Bones). They signed with Warner Bros. Records and released Freeway Madness at the end of 1972.

6. Sept. 2012 · An interesting album by the Pretty Things. One minute I think I'm listening to some smooth country number. The next minute the music changes gears and turns into heavy glam-rock with guitar solos thrown in for good measure. I guess that's the main thing that makes the Pretty Things such an interesting band overall. Pick up Freeway Madness for ...
