Die britische Country-Band The Notting Hillbillies wurde Ende der 1980er Jahre von Mark Knopfler, dem Frontmann der Dire Straits, und Steve Phillips gegründet. Knopfler und Phillips kannten sich seit den Tagen ihres Studiums.
