„Du hast Glück bei den Frau’n, Bel ami.“ So ist es und das nutzt George Duroy (Johannes Heesters) auch trefflich aus. Der Dandy schläft sich nach oben und avanciert vom Nobody zum einflussreichen Reporter… Das Remake des 1939er-Originals von Willi Forst hält sich enger an die literarische Vorlage von Guy de Maupassant. Das macht die Satire kritischer, aber nicht unbedingt originell.
