März 2019 · Cold Weather’s fascinating marriage of detective mystery and slacker film is tinged with humor and a rich ambiguity captured beautifully by Andrew Reed’s moody cinematography—which enshrouds Katz’s native Portland in thick mist and shadow—and by the catchy and innovative original score by Katz’s high-school friend and regular collaborator, Keegan DeWitt.
4. Feb. 2011 · Cold Weather is a fairly enjoyable movie. It certainly is not a film for everyone largely due to it's slow pace and very indie feel. It really doesn't pick up till about 40 min into the film but by that point you realize that the film has managed to get you so invested in the characters you are stuck with it until it finishes.
COLD WEATHER is a charming mystery -- simultaneously a rich detective story and an affecting tale of siblings uniting after years apart.
