Franklin Pierce. Franklin Pierce (1804-1869) Franklin Pierce wurde als Sohn eines Gouverneurs im US-Bundesstaat New Hampshire geboren. Nachdem er das Studium der Rechtswissenschaft in Northampton, Massachusetts, absolviert hatte, wurde er 1827 vor Gericht als Anwalt zugelassen.
Franklin Pierce je rođen u New Hampshireu, u obitelji siromašnog ali uglednog Benjamina Piercea, koji je kasnije dva puta postao guverner te države. Mladi Pierce je pohađao neke od najboljih pravnih škola na sjeveroistoku SAD, pa se od 1827. godine počeo baviti pravom.
