BRUNNER, EMIL(1899–1966) Emil Brunner was a Swiss theologian. He was educated in Switzerland and served in the Swiss army in 1914. Later he became a pastor and then professor of theology at Z ü rich. He participated extensively in the work of the World Council of Churches and also for a time in the Moral Re-Armament movement.
Emil Brunner hatte 1947/48 an der Universität Edinburgh die sogenannten Gifford Lectures gehalten. In dieser Veröffentlichung in deutscher Sprache entwickelt er eine eigenständige Sicht der Zusammenhänge und Unterschiede zwischen Kultur und christlichem Glauben.
