   Clara Immerwahr wurde am 21.6.1870 in Polkendorf in Schlesien geboren. Mit 26 Jahren begann sie das Studium der Chemie bei Prof. Richard Abegg in Breslau, das sie im Jahr 1900 mit der Promotion auf dem Gebiet der physikalischen Chemie beendete. Anschließend arbeitete sie bei Prof. Küster in Clausthal. Ihre Untersuchungen führten zu einigen Veröffentlichungen und einer Patentanmeldung.
